What is Hypnobirthing?
Pregnancy Relaxation, Fear Release & a practical technique for a calmer labour and birth
Hypnobirthing is being talked about much more recently and sometimes associated with having a natural birth or homebirth. Whilst Hypnobirthing has been shown to reduce pain and the need to for interventions during birth, in reality it is useful in any birth environment to relieve concerns, reduce adrenaline and support a more nourishing birth experience.
It is a combination of practical tools that that are practiced throughout pregnancy and used during labour and birth. By supporting stress reduction and informed decisions at each phase of the journey, it can facilitate a calmer and more confident start to family life for women, babies and partners.
Useful in first and subsequent births, to gain a sense of connection with the birth experience and greater emotional and physical wellbeing for women, their babies and their families.
It’s not ‘one, two, three, go into a trance and wake up with a baby’. The hypnobirthing process is not necessarily about hypnosis, it’s often about focusing on something other than the pain of labour and that’s not something that’s particularly new.
