I’m Sakina, a Hypnobirthing Teacher, Positive Birth Movement Facilitator, Birth Trauma Resolution Practitioner and Mum of two based in South London. My passion for birth started with my own journey and I am proud to have talked about how birth experiences and antenatal preparation can be improved on BBC Radio and BBC Television as well as writing for other resources.
I started Tranquil Birth to support others having calmer and more confident birth experiences after personally having 2 very different experiences. I understanding first hand the impact birth has on women and their families and why it is important to be able to have experiences we are comfortable with.
As women have nourishing pregnancy and birth experiences, it helps their partners and their babies discover these too, beginning family life with greater tranquility and wellbeing.
We often look at birth as a mountain we need to climb but it can be an enriching experience and is one that is connected to pregnancy and parenthood, each phase impacts the next part of the journey.
When I prepared for my first baby I had lots of information but was missing tools to guide me and my partner through the physical process, my work with Tranquil Birth is about bridging that gap for all women and in any birth situation.
Every person I have had the privilege of working with has impacted me and my work, giving it more insight, depth and understanding, each time I teach is a joy for me, as well as a learning experience.
All my birth training has been RCM (Royal College of Midwifery) Accredited and therapeutically supervised in line with best practice.
My training and experience:
- Diploma in Hypnobirthing KGH
- Birth Trauma Resolution Practitioner
- Positive Birth Movement Facilitator
- Reiki Master
